Member of Parliament for North Tongu Constituency, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has released a list public officials who are allegedly involved in the procurement of state lands from the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

The list which emerged as the latest post on his Facebook page, was described as part of an ongoing special parliamentary oversight on State Capture. He noted that the involvement of these government officials in the issue of state land procurement, has accounted for the government’s silence regarding the matter for the past three years. “What has emerged clearly explains why the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government adamantly refuses to publish the full list on the sale of public lands despite parliament’s 3-year tussle with the executive to obtain the data.”

He explained that the recent discovery also accounts for the absence of measures to tackle state capture and the sale of state assets in the recently launched manifesto of the New Patriotic Party(NPP).

The names which he deems as the first batch of government officials allegedly involved in the purchase of state lands from the President of Ghana within 2020 to 2022 are as follows – Kate Gyamfua (NPP Women’s Organiser), Ibrahim Mohammed Awal (Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture at the time of purchase) ,Dr. Ernest Yedu Addison (Governor, Bank of Ghana), Elsie Addo Awadzi (Deputy Governor, Bank of Ghana), Maxwell Opoku-Afari (Deputy Governor, Bank of Ghana), Joseph Boahen Aidoo (CEO, COCOBOD), Dr. Janet Ampadu Fofie (Chairperson, Presidential Emoluments Committee), Kwabena Mantey Jectey (Board Member, Ghana Airport Company Limited, Anselm Ransford Adzete Sowah (Ghana’s High Commissioner to Canada) and Anna Asare Oduro (Former NPP Women’s Organiser, Holland Chapter).
