Y 97.9 FM’s Award-winning presenter, MC, Nana Quasi-Wusu, popularly known as PM, was one of the Mentors for this year’s edition of Barcamp Takoradi , held at the Takoradi Library on 24th August 2024.

BarCamp is an annual youth empowerment event organised in various regions every year. With different mentors from different fields of endeavor.

PM Spoke on the topic “The Power of Talent,” where he shared his experience as a civil Engineer who is now a Radio/TV Broadcaster/Professional Event MC. Because he believes the best way to hit your utmost potential in life is by working with your God given Talent.

He encouraged attendees, saying “it’s not going to be easy but with hardwork, perseverance, the spirit of excellence, and the God factor, you will be able to achieve your dreams”.

He also said his first pay as a professional MC was a pack of jollof, and that was 14 years ago. But now he is working with most of the big brands in the country. Because of consistency, hard work, self-education and guidance from mentors.

Barcamp, a global phenomenon, first made its way to Ghana and has since become an annual event that brings together Ghanaian youth from diverse backgrounds to discuss various topics, network, and share opportunities. Barcamp Takoradi, in particular, has been pivotal in nurturing the talents of young professionals in the Western Region, creating a space where innovation meets culture.
