Vice Presidential, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has stated that the Kasoa-Winneba road project is fully funded by the government of Ghana not ECOWAS.

According to him, the claims that the Kasoa-Winneba road project is being funded by ECOWAS is completely false and misleading and designed to undermine the efforts of government.

Delivering a keynote address at the Awubia Festival at Awutu Breku, the Vice President asserted that the Kasoa-Winneba road project that is under construction is his idea as the chairman of Critical Roads Project Committee.

“The Critical Roads Project Committee which i chaired, is responsible for identifying critical Roads to construct and among the road is Kasoa-Winneba road”, he added.

“I identified that road as one of the critical roads and we have done it, just as i identified Dodowa-Adenta as critical road”.

Dr. Bawumia further explained that the government is committed to improving the county’s road network, enhance economic activities and ease traffic congestion.

Dr. Bawumia also indicated that the idea of buying heavy duty equipment to help every district to construct roads came from him.
