The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communication Bureau in Awutu Senya West Constituency has condemned Gizella Agbotui Tetteh, Member of Parliament for the Constituency for leaving Awutu Awubia Festival held on September 2, 2024 without permission.

According to them, the behavior exhibited by the MP whiles the Festival was still in session is an act of disrespect to the Awutu Traditional Council, guest of honour and the entire community. In an interview with Happy Kasiebo, the NPP Communications Officer for Awutu Senya West, Ephraim Aidoo expressed strong disapproval of the MP’s behavior.

He noted that a Member of Parliament walking out of the ceremony in the presence of the Vice President, guest of Honour and Awutu Traditional Council is despicable and the NPP will not tolerate. He added that the actions of Gizella Tetteh Agbotui demonstrate lack of respect to the office of the vice president and the Chief of Obrachire, Nai Ntow Abosompem IV who is also the caretaker Paramount Chief of Awutu Traditional area. “Hon. Gizella Tetteh Agbotui left the Festival as soon as the Vice President and his entourage arrived at the ceremony without seeking permission as protocol demands”. We therefore demand an apology and expect her to take steps to repair the damage caused to the traditional Council and the community.
