The Minister of Information, Fatimatu Abubakar, has revealed government’s plan to introduce an Online Record Management System (ORMS) to provide a convenient means for the public to submit Right To Information (RTI) applications to public institutions.

According to the Minister, the platform will transform record management across all public institutions and would as well digitalize the RTI application process.

‘’This platform would not only digitalise the RTI applications but would also transform records management across all public institutions’’.

The Online Record Management System (ORMS) when introduced would provide easy access to the application of the Right to Information across all public institutions. This would help curb the issues of misinformation on the media space.
She said, the Right to Information Act was established to ensure transparency in information sharing and receiving in public offices.

Introducing the Online Record Management System (ORMS) would ensure that the Right to attaining the Right Information would be easily accessible.

‘’Since the enactment of Ghana’s Right To Information (RTI) Act 2019 (Act 989), we have made significant strides in enhancing transparency and ensuring citizens can request and receive information from public offices’’.
