“These documents, which are used to prove the immigration status of individuals legally permitted to stay in the UK for more than six (6) months, will no longer be valid after 31st December 2024”.

The Ministry has advised individuals planning to stay in the UK for more than six (6) months from lst January 2025 to apply for E-Visas.

“This update also applies to holders of valid Biometric Residence Permits (BRP), including those with permissions to live, work, or study in the UK. All BRP cards will expire on 31st December 2024”, the ministry added.

Those traveling outside the UK, especially during the Christmas period, are advised to apply for and access their E-Visas before 31st December 2024 to avoid any complications when re-entering the UK.

The Ministry has however urged all affected persons to take the necessary steps to ensure compliance with these new regulations.
