The National Patron for NABCO Trainees, Nana Barimah-Asamoah, has raised concerns over the government’s claims of creating over two million jobs, questioning the credibility of these figures in light of ongoing unemployment among skilled NABCO trainees.

According to him, despite assurances that the Nation Builders Corps(NABCO) program would bridge the gap between training and permanent employment, many participants remain jobless, prompting doubts about the government’s fulfillment of its job creation promises.

Barimah-Asamoah highlighted the struggles faced by over 100,000 graduates who, despite completing their NABCO training, continue to face difficulties finding stable employment. He pointed to the vice president’s involvement in launching the NABCO program, emphasizing that while Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia had overseen the initiative, the expected transition from temporary placements to permanent jobs has largely fallen short.

He suggested that the government’s claims of job creation are not reflected in the experiences of NABCO trainees, who were led to believe that their involvement in the program would result in lasting employment opportunities. This gap between promise and reality, Barimah-Asamoah raised questions about the authenticity of the government’s employment initiatives and the feasibility of future job creation pledges.
