Valencia Floods: Victims call for extra aid from central government

In the aftermath of two weeks of torrential rain that devastated the Spanish city of Valencia, causing extensive property damage and claiming over 200 lives, victims are appealing for increased aid from the central government.

Reports indicate that another bout of heavy rain struck Valencia on Wednesday. Though the city was better prepared this time, it narrowly avoided further destruction.

Many residents were seen forming impromptu rescue teams to salvage property and help individuals in immediate danger during the second wave of rain.

Local media have highlighted other towns and areas like Paiporta, which remain heavily supported by firefighters, police officers, the Red Cross, and numerous daily volunteers.

However, many residents feel that these community-led efforts are not being sufficiently reinforced by authorities at either the regional or national level.

They are calling on the government to intensify its support for the affected towns.
