You want to break the 8 just to bury Ghanaians in the National Cathedral pit – Shamima Muslim criticizes Government

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) 2024 Manifesto Spokesperson for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, Shamima Muslim, has questioned the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) justification for campaigning to “break the 8.”

She emphasized that the NPP government has prioritized enriching themselves and their families rather than focusing on the progress of the nation and the well-being of ordinary citizens. She argued that this track record provides no valid basis for the NPP to seek another term in office.

Shamima Muslim further alleged that many Ghanaians have died from hunger, particularly those whose funds were locked up during the banking sector cleanup implemented by the NPP government. She also posed a rhetorical question, asking if the NPP seeks to “break the 8” only to bury Ghanaians in the pit dug for the National Cathedral.

“This is their character, they have come to enrich themselves and their families. And there is no bases for them to say “break the 8″, break the 8 so that you come and bury us in the hole that you have dug”, she said.

She called on Ghanaians to support the NDC and John Dramani Mahama to rectify the challenges created by the NPP and work towards improving the nation’s economy.
