Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Bosiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi has said that Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen was never a true party member.

Chairman Wontumi claims that Alan Kyerematen’s actions after former president John Agyekum Kufuor’s endorsement of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia shows that he was never a true supporter of the NPP.

He said Alan Kyerematen is a traitor and an ungrateful Judas who has sold out Kufuor and the NPP to their opponents particularly the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

“One gentleman who was with us called Alan Kyerematen, has shown clearly through his actions that he has never loved the NPP, and just as Judas betrayed Jesus, that is how Alan Kyerematen has betrayed the NPP and President Kufuor.”

“It was J.A. Kufuor who saw you, Alan Kyerematen. The power to appoint is reserved for the president, and he gave you the role of ambassador, after which he made you a minister for trade. Akufo-Addo, during his term, also gave you the position of trade minister again. Akufo-Addo, in his second term, gave you the position again,” Chairman Wontumi said at a press conference on Thursday, November 21, 2024.

Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen who is a Founding Member of the NPP is contesting in the 2024 Presidential elections on the ticket of the Alliance Movement for Change.
