Election 2024: Elections should be about policies, not violence - Kwabena Agyapong to NDC

Former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Agyei Agyapong, has stated that if there is any political party intending to cause violence or rig this year’s election, it would be the National Democratic Congress (NDC) due to their historical association with violence and revolutions.

He argued that the NDC, aware of their potential loss in the December 7 elections, has begun accusing the NPP of planning to rig the polls. However, he emphasized that if any party is likely to attempt electoral manipulation, it would be the NDC.

Mr. Agyapong pointed to a recent statement by the NDC leadership, highlighting their revolutionary background and claiming expertise in violence, as evidence of their propensity for such actions. He argued that the NDC is the only political party in Ghana capable of using violence during this election.

He further stressed that the upcoming elections should not be about violence or insults but about policies, developmental initiatives, and plans presented by the competing parties. These, he stated, are the factors Ghanaians will consider when casting their votes.

As the election approaches, Mr. Agyapong encouraged Ghanaians to turn out in large numbers to vote for the NPP, promising a transformative experience under Dr. Bawumia’s leadership.
