Member of Parliament for the Ningo-Prampram Constituency, Sam Nartey George, has expressed his views following the malfunctioning of the newly commissioned E GATE system by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia at the Kotoka International Airport.

The Vice President, during the commissioning on Tuesday, November 3, 2024, stated that the E GATE system was intended to position Ghana at par with technologically advanced nations in the aviation sector. However, the system failed during a test run conducted by the vice President himself, raising nationwide concern.

The NDC Member of Parliament in a post on his X page, addressed Dr. Bawumia, quizzing him on his remarks after the mishap. “Vice President @MBawumia, how do you feel seeing the failure of the system you hurriedly went to commission?” he asked.

Sam George further attributed the failure to the Vice President’s eagerness to commission the project. He suggested that the absence of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) before the system’s deployment may have contributed to the malfunction. “Rushing to prove a point leads to a bad crash. When did they carry out UAT on the system after deployment?” he queried.
