The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover, has announced that the ongoing construction of the Marine Drive Project will create job opportunities for the youth in Osu and other parts of the Ga Mashie enclave.

The Marine Drive Millennium Project, supervised by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, was described as a ‘mammoth project’ by the Deputy Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mark Okraku Mantey.

During an inspection at the project site on Thursday, Titus-Glover briefed the press on the project’s potential benefits. One significant advantage he emphasized was the recruitment of skilled artisans from Osu and Ga Mashie to contribute to the construction.

“The contractors are not going to employ people from outside; I want to make it clear. Skilled workers being employed from outside is understandable, but they need to give us our quota. We will follow it keenly to ensure that the youth in these areas have work to do, so we can all win,” he stated.

Regarding the project timeline, the Regional Minister indicated that it aligns with the progress made so far. “Funds are available for this project, and presently the road works are being done. Once that is settled, other works will also spring up,” he assured.
