The NDC parliamentary candidate for Awutu Senya East, Phillis Naa Koryoo Okunnor has alleged that a vehicle belonging to Mavis Hawa Koomson, the MP for the constituency and Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, chased and fired at her car.

The incident is reported to have left one person dead, with another critically injured.

Ms. Okunnor claims the attack happened while she was traveling within the constituency. She accused a V8 linked to Hawa Koomson’s convoy of pursuing her and opening fire, leading to the tragic outcomes.

While details of the shooting are still unclear, the police have yet to release an official statement or confirm the incident.

She expressed concern for her safety and that of her supporters in the constituency. She further alleged that despite reporting the matter to the police, no action has been taken.

This situation has intensified tensions in the Awutu Senya East constituency, a known political flashpoint.
