The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has announced the party’s decision to investigate its defeat in the December 7, 2024, presidential and parliamentary elections.

Speaking at a press conference, Chairman Wontumi emphasized the importance of introspection and assured stakeholders, particularly in the Ashanti region, of a comprehensive effort to uncover the reasons behind the party’s disappointing performance.

“It didn’t go well for us. However, the NPP branch in the Ashanti region will soon convene a meeting with all regional leaders, including regional executives, MPs, parliamentary candidates, MMDCEs, constituency executives, and regional council members, to investigate what went wrong and share the findings with the public” he said.

He assured supporters that the party is now focused on rebuilding and recovery.

“For now, we are at a loss. What is important is to bounce back so that Ghana and Asanteman can thrive again” he stated.
