President Akufo- Addo has reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that the transition of power is smooth and seamlessly transparent.
According to him, this transition marks a significant step in the country’s democratic dispensation, hence the need to ensure a smooth transfer of power devoid discrepancies.
‘’ Today we reaffirm our collective resolve to adhere to the letter and spirit of this Act and ensure that, this transition proceeds seamlessly, transparently and with dignity.”
Speaking during the inauguration of the presidential transition team on Wednesday December 11, 2024, President Akufo-Addo reiterated the significance of the transition, stating that, a peaceful transition of power is the hallmark of matured democracies.
‘’This marks the significant step in our democratic process, the smooth transfer of power from one administration to the other. This meeting and the processes we are about to undertake are firmly grounded’’.
He assured the transition team and the president elect, John Dramani Mahama of his full support to ensure an effective transfer of power.
‘’I assure them of the full support of my government and myself for effective transitions’’.
“The just ended parliamentary and presidential elections has reaffirmed the will of the Ghanaian people and on behalf of the government and the people of Ghana, I extend a warm congratulations to HE John Dramani Mahama on his decisive elections as the next president of Ghana”, he added.
