GMA Group CEO praises Happy FM News Team for outstanding 2024 Election coverage

The Chief Executive Officer of Global Media Alliance (GMA) Group, Ernest Boateng, has commended Happy FM’s News Team for their comprehensive and insightful coverage of Ghana’s 2024 elections.

Speaking at the Global Media Alliance All-White Thanksgiving Service held at the Silverbird Cinemas, Accra Mall, Mr. Boateng acknowledged the exceptional leadership of Head of News, Fati Shaibu-Ali, who spearheaded efforts to equip reporters with the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver transparent, accurate, and timely news before, during, and after the elections.

Mr. Boateng expressed his satisfaction with the coordination and teamwork that ensured the election coverage was engaging and captivating for listeners of Happy 98.9FM.
“I would like to commend the News Team for the exceptional work done in coverage of the 2024 elections. The head of the News Team did not only make this possible but also rolled up her sleeves and personally catered to the feeding of all reporters throughout the period. This is what we call servant leadership,” he said.

He encouraged all GMA staff to emulate the values demonstrated by the news team and adopt them as a standard for all departments within the organization.
“We need to work together and encourage one another. Let’s give a shout-out to the person who goes the extra mile, let’s laugh together, cheer together, and be open to the new learning curve the new year brings.”

The GMA Group’s All-White Thanksgiving Service, held on December 12, 2024, brought together staff from Happy FM, YFM, YTV, Silverbird Cinemas, eProductions, Perception Management International, and Global Media Alliance to join in prayer and worship, expressing gratitude for a successful year.
