The Head of Public Affairs of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), John Kapi has confirmed receipt of an additional GHC 35 million from the Ministry of Education.

This fund released by the government through the Education ministry will support WAEC’s operation to facilitate the continuation of the 2024 WASSCE marking.

The government earlier released GHC 25 million to settle part of the GHC 118 million debt owned to WAEC.

According to him, the money will help WAEC speed up the process to get the results released by the end of December.

“It is true that the director of finance and the head of National office of WAEC has confirmed receipt of a cheque for 35 million Ghana cedis from the Ministry of Education. We are going to see how best we can work around the clock and ensure that we will be able to release the results by the end of this month”.
