Management of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has shut down the McDan Aviation Private Jet Terminal over an outstanding debt of $3 million owed them.

The move follows several letters to McDan Aviation to make payments following the first shutdown in February 2022.

The debts include; land rentals, land leases and terminal charges accumulated over a period of time.

In a letter dated 14th July, 2024 cited by Happyghana.com, the Managing Director of the Ghana Airport Company Limited, Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare (Mrs), demanded that, McDan Aviations make payment by August 2, 2024 to avoid further actions by the company.

“ You are hereby entreated to make Full payment of your indebtedness by close of business August 2, 2024. Please be reminded that, failure to make payment by the date indicated above, will leave us with no option than to take the necessary action (s) to recover the amounts owed”.

McDan Aviation Private Jet Terminal 1 was launched in 2022 as a private jet terminal.

The Private Jet Terminal has since 2022 faced several shutdowns over the company’s failure to settle its debts.
