We will collaborate with stakeholders for a smooth election of speaker- Gifty Twum Ampofo

Chairperson of the planning committee for the inauguration of the 9th parliament and swearing- in of the President-Elect, Gifty Twum Ampofo has announced plans of working collectively with all other stakeholders for a peaceful transition and election of a speaker for the 9th parliament.

Speaking at a media briefing ahead of the scheduled events, she mentioned that, all stakeholders would be onboard to ensure the election of the speaker is fair and transparent.

“Election of the Speaker of Parliament–Scheduled for January 6, 2025, this election is a pivotal moment as it will set the tone for legislative leadership in the upcoming term. We are actively collaborating with all relevant stakeholders to ensure this process is conducted fairly and transparently.”

Highlighting the inauguration of the President-Elect, Madam Twum Ampofo called on Ghanaians to unite in welcoming the new leaders.

“The presidential inauguration, scheduled for January 7, 2025, will not only mark the beginning of a new chapter in our governance but also celebrate our enduring democratic values. We encourage all Ghanaians to join in this historic occasion as we welcome our new leaders.”
