We are a country of rules- Counsel for NDC’s Akwatia PC reacts as Koforidua High Court convicts MP for Contempt

The Koforidua High Court has granted an injunction against the swearing -in of the Member of Parliament-elect for Akwatia constituency, Ernest Yaw Kumi.

The court has ordered that, Ernest Yaw Kumi be restrained from proceeding to call, register or be sworn in as Member of Parliament for Akwatia constituency.

The Order also prevents Ernest Yaw Kumi from holding himself as Member of Parliament-elect for Akwatia constituency.

“It is hereby ordered that the respondents,
their representatives, agents, servants and all privies are restrained from proceeding to call, admit, register, swear in, recognize, gazette the 1st Respondent as the elected Member of Partment for the Akwatia Constituency and for the Ist Respondent from holding himself out as Member of Parliament for Akwatia Constituency.

The Order was granted under Order 25 Rule 1 (7) of C. I 47.

The Order is valid for 10 days.
