CHAN 2024: CAF announces increase in prize money

The Confederation of African Football, (CAF), has announced an increase in prize money for the 2024 African Championship (CHAN).

The winner of the 2024 edition of the competition which will be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda will receive $3.5m.

The prize money is an increase of 75% from the amount received by Senegal two years ago in Algeria.

CAF also announced that the total prize money for the competition has been increased to $10.4 million which is an increase of 32%.

17 countries have already qualified for the biennial competition.

The draw ceremony for CHAN 2024 will hold at the International Convention Centre, Nairobi, Kenya on Wednesday, January 15.

The competition will start on Saturday, 1 February, 2025 and the final will take place on Friday, 28 February, 2025.
