The Minority in Parliament has called on President John Mahama to take immediate steps to address alleged attacks on state institutions by supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Speaking to journalists in Parliament, Deputy Minority Leader Patricia Appiagyei condemned reports of NDC supporters forcibly taking over state properties and evicting public officials from their residences. She described the incidents as alarming and unacceptable, urging the President to act swiftly to restore order.

Madam Appiagyei further criticized President Mahama’s establishment of the “Operation Recover All Looms” (ORAL) committee before his official swearing-in, claiming it has fostered a hostile and lawless environment. She argued that the committee’s actions have contributed to the reported incidents.

The Minority warned that failure to address these acts of violence and intimidation could undermine the nation’s governance and compromise the security of its institutions. They called for an immediate end to the alleged hostility to safeguard the rule of law and public order.
