Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Premier League club Young Apostles, Gerald Damoah Domfeh, has clarified the role of Samuel Anim Addo within the club, stating that he is not the club’s president as previously perceived.

This clarification comes amid recent controversies sparked by Anim Addo, who alleged that referee Maxwell Hanson and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) were involved in questionable actions against Young Apostles. He further claimed the GFA threatened to relegate the club following his criticism of officiating standards.

Anim Addo, a former member of the Ghana FA Executive Council, had been widely regarded as the financial backer of the Wenchi-based club. However, Young Apostles, through a statement signed by the CEO, distanced themselves from his allegations, emphasizing that his remarks did not represent the club’s views.

Speaking in an interview on Happy Sports, Gerald Damoah Domfeh provided further clarity:

“It’s about time we clarified that Anim Addo is not the president of the club, as he has portrayed himself to be. He is a shareholder of the club, not the owner or the president.”

Meanwhile, Anim Addo has been charged with misconduct by the GFA over some comments he made. He has until Monday, January 13, 2025, to officially respond to the charges.
