We knew Wontumi’s election as regional chairman will cost NPP in 2024 – NDC’s Fuseini Donkor

Former District Chief Executive for Sekyere Afram Plains, Fuseini Donkor has said that the NDC supported Chairman Wontumi’s reelection bid in the NPP Regional elections because his victory was going to favor them in 2024.

According to Fuseini Donkor who is NDC’s Director of Special Duties in the Ashanti Region, they prayed for Wontumi’s victory because he was going to score an own goal against his own party in the 2024 elections.

He stressed that they campaigned for him because they knew that their aim to consolidate support in the Ashanti Region heavily depended on Chairman Wontumi’s victory in the internal elections.

“We were all praying for Wontumi to win because we knew he would score an own goals for us. So we campaigned for his victory and we were happy when he won,” Fuseini Donkor said.

He added that the NDC will go to court to fight for the Obuasi East constituency seat because they won it fair and square.

“Obuasi East we won and we won’t allow that seat to go. You could see the pink sheets have been altered with pen. We’ll go to court and get our seat back.”
