The Coalition of Aggrieved customers of MenzGold has appealed to President John Dramani Mahama to include a financial bailout in the upcoming 2025 budget.

According to a letter addressed to the Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the affected customers are seeking a bailout of at least 200 million Ghana cedis to address the dire financial hardships they face.

“So far not less than 235 members have died out of shock, sickness, and lack of money to purchase medication, some are homeless, hopelessness, induced abject poverty”.

The letter emphasized that the seized assets of MenzGold, currently under government custody, can serve as a guarantee for the requested bailout.

The aggrieved customers have expressed their willingness to cooperate fully with the government and have already provided substantial assistance to the Office of the Attorney General in the ongoing criminal prosecution of Nana Appiah Mensah, the CEO of MenzGold, and two other officials.

The aggrieved customers have also assured government that the 200 million cedis bailout will be recovered once the court case is concluded.
