Some constituents of Klottey Korle gathered at the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Headquarters in Adabraka, demanding the party’s reaction to comments made against their MP, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings.

The group, made up of concerned supporters and residents, expressed their displeasure over what they described as unfair treatment and called on the party’s leadership to address the issue with urgency.

Carrying their petition to the National Executive Committee, the group emphasized the need for swift action to protect the integrity of their MP. They stressed that their concerns should not be ignored and that they expect a clear response from the party leadership. They argued that the silence from the NDC was fueling unnecessary tensions within the constituency.

On Tuesday, February 4, 2025, an unidentified member of the Minority side hurled a derogatory remark at Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, referring to her as the “daughter of a murderer and ordering her to sit down during parliamentary proceedings.

They emphasized that they had already submitted a petition to Parliament, urging the Speaker to address their concerns. They expected a swift response, believing that the issue at hand affected not only their MP but also the integrity of democratic representation. According to them, their efforts are geared towards ensuring fairness and justice, as they feel Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings is being unfairly targeted.

The constituents insisted that while they had gathered in a calm manner this time, future actions might not be as restrained if their concerns continued to be overlooked. The demonstrators carried a petition to the National Executive Committee, outlining their grievances and urging the party to take a firm stance in defense of their MP. They emphasized that their call was rooted in the principles of democracy and fairness, insisting that Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings had been unfairly criticized and that the party’s continued silence was unacceptable.
