President John Dramani has called on Ghanaians to revive their love for the country and embrace the spirit of patriotism.

Speaking at the final funeral rites of the late General Joseph Quainoo held at the St. Catherine Catholic Church in Burma Camp, President Mahama praised Lt. Gen. Quainoo for his unwavering dedication to national service and patriotic values.

“General Quainoo was the last of his generation who believed in the love of country”.

He added that, “They were not into materialism. They were principled and did things out of patriotism. It is very different from the generation today. Everything is driven by material wealth. “

President Mahama encouraged Ghanaians to emulate the principles of the late Army General.

“So, as we gather to say farewell to this man, may his life be an inspiration, thus, we can recapture love for country and patriotism.”
