The minority in Parliament has condemned the actions of Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyabeng in declaring former Finance Minister , Ken Ofori Atta fugitive and wanted”

Habib Idrissu the deputy minority whip presenting a statement on the floor of the House, explained that, the basis for the declaration rests solely on the assertions that Mr. Ken. Ofori Atta has not responded to the request to appear before the Office Of The Special Prosecutor (OPS)in person.

Meanwhile, evidence provided by the legal team of the former Minister indicates that, he is medically not fit and therefore out of the county for treatment.

The statement generated heated debate and confrontation from both sides.

John Abudlai Jinapor, the MP for Yapei Kusehegu lamented that , in 2017 when NDC went into opposition his house was raided by armed policemen who took away his phones and laptops as far as the United Kingdom to unlock while he was in Ghana here awaiting to be called for investigation.

According to him, the act and manner in which his home was ransacked caused fear in his family especially his 6 years old daughter. He questioned why none of his colleagues from the other side saw anything wrong with it but are now complaining and condemning the same action now.

Minority leader, Afenyo Markin, condemned the act saying that what state security operatives did must be condemned by all.

“Despite the narration of the ordeal by some members , the act still should not be encouraged” he said.

On the matter regarding John Jinapor, Afenyo Markin recalled that the Rt. Hon. Speaker then, condemned the act….

Majority leader Mahama Ayariga stated that he will not run any commentary on the matter until he has conducted some investigation.

He added, that he will get the facts right then appraise the house of exactly what happened.
