The MP for Akuapem North, Sammi Awuku, has reaffirmed his commitment to improving the lives of his constituents, despite the NPP’s defeat in the 2024 elections.

According to him, his focus is on addressing the challenges faced by rural communities through impactful initiatives aimed at alleviating poverty and fostering economic growth.

He noted that one of his key interventions is the introduction of a monthly trade initiative, which provides free transportation for farmers to the Ofie Market Square at Amanokrom Durbar grounds. This initiative, he explained, allows farmers to sell their produce without the financial burden of transportation costs, thereby increasing their profit margins and sustaining their livelihoods.

He said he has also partnered with rural banks to create a credit system that offers soft loans to farmers, traders, and small business owners. This, he noted, is part of his broader plan to empower entrepreneurs and strengthen small and medium-scale enterprises, which are crucial to the local economy.

Sammi Awuku emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in managing constituency funds. He said he has worked closely with chiefs, opinion leaders, and other stakeholders to develop a decentralized system that ensures resources directly benefit those in need.

According to him, these initiatives reflect his dedication to tackling poverty and fostering development in Akuapem North.
