The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has praised the Ghana Police Service and the Inspector General of Police for the recent facelift at the Police Headquarters.

Speaking during his maiden official visit to the Ghana Police Service headquarters in Accra on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, Muntaka Mohammed expressed his happiness and appreciation for the improvements made by the police management.

He mentioned that his last visit to the headquarters was six to seven years ago, and he was pleased to see the significant changes. He commended the entire police force for their hard work and dedication in transforming the headquarters.

“If my memory serves me right, the last time I entered this compound was about six, seven years ago, entering this morning or this afternoon, I must commend the police administration, by the Inspector General of Police, about the initial impression that I have, the neatness of the place, the uplift of the place, and the few changes we’ve been able to make, I think that this is commendable and must not go unmentioned,” he said.

The Minister also extended his sincere gratitude to the police for their continued efforts in protecting citizens and property, ensuring national security, and their exemplary role before, during, and after the elections.

He acknowledged that while there were some incidents, particularly during the collation process, the police should be commended for maintaining discipline, highlighting that not a single gunshot was fired by any police officer.
