Former Asante Kotoko management member, David Akwasi Serebour Boateng, has fulfilled his promise and paid a GH₵10,000 reward into the club’s account. This bounty was offered for information leading to the arrest of Braimah, the prime suspect in the fatal stabbing of Kotoko fan Francis Yaw Frimpong, known as Nana Pooley.

The tragic incident occurred on February 2nd at a game in Nsoatre. During a court hearing on February 17th, Kotoko’s Communications Director, Samuel Sarfo Duku, revealed that six accused individuals identified Braimah as the perpetrator. Police reports also confirm Braimah as the one who stabbed Pooley, with all the accused admitting to this in their statements. Braimah remains at large.

Following the court proceedings, Serebour, via Facebook, pledged GH₵10,000 for information leading to Braimah’s arrest.

Happy Sports can confirm this amount has now been deposited into Asante Kotoko’s account. The club will administer the funds as a reward for credible information that leads to Braimah’s arrest.

Serebour and Asante Kotoko are appealing to the public for assistance in locating Braimah. They urge anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to come forward. The club and its supporters are determined to see justice served for Pooley, a devoted fan whose death has deeply affected the Kotoko community.

Asante Kotoko on the other hand has confirmed its return to competitive football after the burial of Pooley.
