Police personnel have been deployed to mann the traffic light in front of Odorgonno Senior High School on the Awoshie-Anyaa road to ensure free flow of vehicles and prevent accidents.

Students of Odorgonno Senior High School expressed their displeasure over the faulty traffic light which according to them has been claiming lives.

The students hit the street on Monday, February 25, 2025 , and blocked the road to prevent the free flow of vehicles as a way of drawing authorities attention to their plight.

In an interview with Happy Kaseɛbɔ, one of the kitchen staff, Frank stated that the situation is very alarming because two students and the school’s chief security have been killed by speeding vehicles.

According to him, the faulty traffic light has been abandoned for four years without any attempt by authorities to fix it.

He revealed that if the students hadn’t demonstrated on Monday to register their displeasure, the police wouldn’t have been deployed there.

He also said the students have halted their planned 5day demonstration due to assurances from authorities but have vowed to hit the street again on friday if the traffic light is not fixed.
