Kosmos Innovation Center (KIC) continues to drive impact in the agricultural sector by empowering young people and smallholder farmers through strategic partnerships. One such collaboration is with Premier Poultry Limited, a Kumasi-based agribusiness that works across the country to improve employment and nutrition through poultry farming.
Premier Poultry Limited is a trusted local partner of KIC, dedicated to creating sustainable income opportunities for young people. The company specializes in brooding day-old chicks for six weeks before selling them to smallholder farmers for rearing.
This initiative not only provides young entrepreneurs with hands-on training in poultry management but also ensures that small-scale farmers have access to high-quality birds, leading to increased income and improved household nutrition.
Through this partnership, KIC and Premier Poultry Limited are contributing to job creation and enhancing food security in Ghana. By equipping young people with the necessary skills to engage in poultry farming, they are positioned to build sustainable businesses and boost local economies.
One of the beneficiaries, Abena Owusu, shared her experience: “Thanks to the support from KIC, its partners, and Premier Poultry, I have been able to start my own poultry business. I now have a steady income and can support my family better.”
Speaking about the importance of the collaboration, Mr. Benjamin Gyan-Kesse, Executive Director for KIC highlighted the importance of poultry in driving agricultural growth in Ghana.

Under similar collaborations, KIC is partnering with other local organisations to provide employment opportunities for many young people. This is part of KIC’s implementation of the Initiative for Youth in Agricultural Transformation (IYAT) program in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation.
