Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, brought the first edition of the National Economic Dialogue to a close expressing high hopes for expanding economic gains across sectors nationwide.

Delivering her remarks as chair of the two-day discussions, the Vice President emphasized that many sectors in Ghana have the potential to generate significant revenue through a strategic reset.

She stressed that a growing economy requires increased participation across all sectors, which, would in turn ease the burden on major revenue drivers. “Growth must be broad-based and deep. We must move away from over-reliance on a few sectors to enhance competitiveness at all levels and adapt to the times in the digital age, stimulants to economic growth—such as infrastructure development, modernizing our transport, energy, and communication systems must work hand in hand with infrastructure developments to align with long-term goals.”

The Vice President assured that this ambitious push for economic growth will be anchored in good governance, a strong fight against corruption, and accountability at every stage of implementation.
