President John Dramani Mahama has issued a decisive ultimatum to State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) operating at a loss, declaring that they will either be merged, privatized, or shut down.
This move, according to Mahama is part of the government’s broader strategy to enhance public sector efficiency and ensure economic sustainability.
Speaking to Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of SOEs, President Mahama emphasized the urgent need for financial discipline and improved performance among state-run businesses.

“Loss-making SOEs will no longer be tolerated”.
He added that, “They will be swiftly reformed. They will be merged, privatized, or shut down”.
