A military officer from the 11th Mechanised Battalion has reportedly died after being attacked by gunmen in Bawku.
The officer, who had left his station without uniform, was shot after the gunmen confronted him at a different location.
The incident took place on Monday, 17th March 2025, near the Kpalore-Avengo area of Bawku township.
Since the resurgence of conflict in October 2024, residents of Bawku have been living in self-imposed isolation, depending on their specific areas of residence.
To date, approximately 75 people, including women and children, have lost their lives as a result of the renewed violence.
