Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo, has labeled Ghana’s upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Madagascar as a “small final” due to the stakes involved.

This match marks Ghana’s second World Cup qualifier in the ongoing FIFA international window.

In their first match on March 21, Ghana dominated Chad with a resounding 5-0 victory.

Scheduled for Monday, March 24, at 19:00 GMT in Morocco, the clash pits the two top-ranked teams of Group I against each other. Ghana leads the group with 12 points and a goal difference of +7 from five games, while Madagascar closely trails with 10 points and a goal difference of +6.

Addo stressed the importance of full commitment from his team, stating, “We need 100%. This game is like a small final, and a win brings us closer to qualification, but it’s going to be very tough.”

He acknowledged Madagascar’s strong performance in their recent games, indicating the challenge ahead.

The high-stakes encounter promises to be an intense battle as both sides aim for World Cup glory.
