The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has revealed that the Hajj quota for Ghanaian pilgrims has now exceeded 6,000, marking a significant milestone in Ghana-Saudi Arabia relations.

This increase will allow more Ghanaian Muslims to fulfill their religious obligations and reflects the growing cooperation between the two nations.

“With great pleasure, I hosted the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Ghana, H.E. Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Dhakel. We agreed to expand the frontiers of Ghana-Saudi Arabia bilateral relations and to roll out historic projects in the coming months and years across multiple sectors,” he wrote on his official Facebook page on Friday.

According to him, both parties agreed to roll out historic projects across multiple sectors in the coming months and years, further deepening ties between the two countries.

He also indicated that he has accepted to host his distinguished counterpart, the Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia, who has expressed interest in visiting Ghana this year.

He stated that the visit is expected to enhance diplomatic engagements and open new opportunities for collaboration.

“President Mahama’s government will continue to forge strong ties with our friends in Saudi Arabia.

Great times for Ghana 🇬🇭 Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 relations,” he added.
