Ministry of Local govt, chieftaincy and Religious Affairs postpones National Sanitation Day Launch

The Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs has announced the postponement of the reintroduced National Sanitation Day launch, originally scheduled for Wednesday, April 2, 2025, along with a nationwide clean-up exercise planned for Saturday, April 5, 2025.

The Ministry cited the need for further stakeholder consultations and preparatory engagements to ensure a more inclusive and well-coordinated rollout of the initiative.

While expressing regret over any inconvenience caused, the Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to environmental cleanliness, civic responsibility, and public health through the program.

The ministry assured the public that, a new date for the launch and clean-up exercise will be announced in due course.

In an official statement issued on April 1, 2025, the Ministry urged the public and stakeholders to remain engaged and supportive in efforts to maintain a clean and healthy environment nationwide.

POSTPONEMENT OF THE LAUNCH AND CLEAN-UP EXERCISE FOR THE NATIONAL SANITATION DAY

The Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs wishes to inform the general public, stakeholders, and the media that the scheduled launch of the reintroduced National Sanitation Day, initially planned for Wednesday, 2nd April 2025, and the subsequent nationwide clean-up exercise slated for Saturday, 5th April 2025, have been postponed.

This decision has been necessitated by ongoing stakeholder consultations and preparatory engagements required to ensure a more inclusive, well-coordinated, and impactful rollout of the initiative.

The Ministry deeply regrets any inconvenience this may cause and assures the public of its unwavering commitment to promoting environmental cleanliness, civic responsibility, and public health through the National Sanitation Day initiative.

A new date for the official launch and clean-up exercise will be communicated in due course. We appreciate your understanding, continued support, and collaboration.
