President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel is expected to arrive in Ghana today, April 8, 2025, for a landmark two-day official visit marking the first time in over 60 years that a Czech or former Czechoslovak head of state has visited the country.

The visit is set to strengthen diplomatic ties and enhance economic cooperation between Ghana and the Czech Republic.

President Pavel will land in Accra on Tuesday after concluding a two-day visit to Mauritania.

He will be formally welcomed at the Jubilee House, the official seat of Ghana’s presidency, where he will hold bilateral talks with President John Dramani Mahama.

Their discussions will centre on boosting trade, investment, and economic partnerships.

This historic visit comes at a time when Ghana, with a population of 35 million, continues to draw global attention for its democratic stability and economic potential. Key areas of collaboration expected to be discussed include energy, infrastructure, healthcare, and education.

On Wednesday, President Pavel will take part in several high-level events, including the Ghana-Czech Business Forum, which aims to connect businesses and encourage investment between both countries.

He will also inaugurate the Czech House a new diplomatic and cultural centre that will serve as a symbol of the deepening ties between the two nations.

The Czech delegation will depart Ghana on Thursday.
