Following the devastating fire outbreak at Adum PZ in Kumasi, affected traders have received financial support from the Ashanti Regional Parliamentary Caucus.

The group, accompanied by the Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, visited the site to donate GH¢150,000 to assist the victims.

During the visit, the MPs expressed their unwavering solidarity with the traders and pledged to support them throughout the reconstruction of the burnt shops.

Kofi Amankwa-Manu, the Member of Parliament for Atwima Kwanwoma, reassured the victims that the caucus would remain by their side, emphasizing the importance of their trade in sustaining their families. The MPs reaffirmed their commitment to redeveloping the Adum market into a safer and more secure trading environment for all.

Chairman Wontumi also appealed to the government to extend soft loans to the affected traders, similar to the financial assistance provided to victims of previous fire incidents in Keta and Kantamanto.

He stressed the need for equal compassion and support to enable the traders rebuild their businesses.
