The Minister of State in Charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu has confirmed that Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang is in good health and currently taking a short medical rest on the advice of her doctors.

Providing an update on her condition during an interview with the media, Kwakye Ofosu assured the public of her steady recovery and indicated that she would soon resume her official duties.

“She is currently in good health and taking a short rest as advised by her doctors. In short of that issue, she will be back to her duties,” he stated.

Commenting on concerns raised by some Ghanaians about the decision to jet the Vice President abroad for medical care despite the current government previously criticizing similar .

He explained that Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang was initially taken to the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) for treatment. It was only after a thorough assessment by doctors at UGMC that a recommendation was made for her to seek further medical attention abroad.

Therefore, the decision to jet her out was based solely on medical advice and was not immediate or politically motivated.
