President John Dramani Mahama has urged Ghanaian youth to take charge of their future by embracing technology and innovation as powerful tools for transformation.

Speaking at the official launch of the One Million Coders Program, he emphasized the need for young people to move from a mindset of limitation to one of limitless potential.

“We are changing the national narrative — from one of limitation to one of limitless potential,” he said.

The One Million Coders Program he said marks a bold step in Ghana’s journey towards digital empowerment.

According to him, it is designed to equip one million young Ghanaians with critical coding and digital skills, positioning them not just to participate in the digital economy but to lead it.

The programme he noted seeks to shift Ghana’s status from a nation that consumes technology to one that creates it one solution at a time.

President Mahama stressed the importance of transitioning from a culture of job-seeking to one of job-creation.

By empowering the youth with the knowledge and tools to innovate, the initiative aims to build a resilient and future-ready Ghana.

He emphasized that the programme is not just a training platform it is a launchpad for entrepreneurship, innovation, and global relevance.

He described the youth as the architects of Ghana’s digital future, encouraging them to take ownership of the program and use it as a bridge between their dreams and the opportunities of the digital age.

The initiative, President Mahama said is a national investment in talent, creativity, and ambition.

“Let this be the bridge between your dreams and the opportunities of the digital age. You are not just participants in this initiative, you are the architects of Ghana’s digital future,” he noted.
