The Parliamentary Select Committee on Health is set to undertake a comprehensive four-day tour of regional and teaching hospitals across Ghana from Tuesday, April 22 to Friday, April 25, 2025.

The initiative aims to evaluate the current state of healthcare delivery, identify key challenges, and formulate actionable strategies to improve services within the country’s health sector.

Members of Parliament have been divided into three teams to conduct assessments at various hospitals nationwide:

Team One will visit Bolgatanga Regional Hospital, Nalerigu Regional Hospital, Tamale Teaching Hospital, Tamale Regional Hospital, and Wa Regional Hospital.

While, Team Two is assigned to Damongo Regional Hospital, Techiman Regional Hospital, Sunyani Regional Hospital, and Goaso Regional Hospital.

Also, Team Three will assess Kumasi Regional Hospital, Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Koforidua Regional Hospital, Ho Regional Hospital, Ho Teaching Hospital, and the Greater Accra Regional Hospital.

According to David Sebastian Damoah, Director of Media Relations, the tour will involve direct engagement with health professionals and stakeholders to gather detailed accounts of operational challenges.

The findings will guide parliamentary oversight and inform national health policy.

The Committee has encouraged hospital staff and management to actively participate in discussions during the visits, ensuring that their insights contribute to shaping healthcare improvements.

Tasked with overseeing Ghana’s health policies, programs, and institutions, the Parliamentary Select Committee on Health reaffirms its commitment to ensuring an accessible, efficient, and responsive healthcare system for all citizens.
