Health Minister Kwabena Mintah Akandoh has voiced his dissatisfaction with the unhygienic conditions at the Tamale Teaching Hospital.

According to the Health Minister, the unhygienic nature of the facility is dangerous because people who visit the facility to seek medical care might end up leaving with other diseases.

He stressed that there is a challenge with water in Tamale but they still have to find a way to keep the washrooms in the facilities clean because what he saw is nothing to write home about.

“This place is not hygienic at all. I have been on the health committee for years and we have always complained about this very issue, I understand there water shortage in Tamale but that is not an excuse.”

“If we don’t take care people will come to this hospital and pick the disease and we cannot accept that. You have to find a way to keep this facility clean,” the Minister added.
