President John Dramani Mahama has given all his appointees 48 hours to complete the assets declaration process or risk losing their jobs.

According to the President, he gave the directive on February 18 that all appointees should declare their assets before March 31, 2025, but he has been informed by the Auditor General that some appointees have not performed the exercise.

Mahama said every appointee who was appointed or nominated before February 18 and has not declared his assets has until Wednesday, May 7, 2025, to do so or will be automatically terminated.

“If any of you fails to declare your assets by Wednesday, May 7, 2025, consider yourself automatically terminated. The assets declaration is a very important part of our administration and it will help us to check corruption” president Mahama said.

The President also added that appointees who defaulted on the directive to declare their assets by March 31, 2025, will forfeit their three months salaries.

He said the salaries will be donated to to the Ghana Medical Trust Fund also known as Mahama cares.
