The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has commenced the first-ever 24-hour service centre today Wednesday, May 7, 2025, in Adentan, Greater Accra Region.

This initiative is part of the government’s broader effort to establish a 24-hour economy, ensuring greater accessibility to public services.

Strategically positioned at the GAPTE (Ayalolo) Head Office near Ritz Junction along Ashaley Botwe Road (GPS: GD-023-2181), the new facility is designed to provide uninterrupted access to DVLA services. Motorists will now have the convenience of obtaining essential services such as driver’s license applications, renewals, and vehicle registration at any time of the day.

DVLA Chief Executive, Julius Neequaye Kotey, emphasized the significance of this development, stating, “This milestone makes DVLA one of the first public service institutions to embrace 24-hour operations in direct support of the national policy. We are committed to ensuring flexibility and convenience for all motorists.”

The initiative aims to enhance service delivery, reduce bottlenecks, and improve customer experience while aligning with international best practices in road safety and licensing management.

In addition to the new facility, the DVLA is preparing to launch a public engagement program titled “Time with the Chief Executive.” This platform will allow journalists and the public to interact directly with the DVLA CEO, raise concern, and gain insights into ongoing and upcoming projects.

As part of its commitment to efficiency, accessibility, and transparency, the DVLA invites stakeholders, media personnel, and the general public to attend the inauguration ceremony and witness this transformative step in public service.
