The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, has summoned Sammy Gyamfi, Acting CEO of the Ghana Gold Board, to explain his recent actions after a video surfaced showing him handing out money in public.

The footage, which quickly went viral on social media, captures Mr. Gyamfi presenting an undisclosed amount of foreign currency reportedly U.S. dollars to evangelist and former fetish priestess, Agradaa, also known as Patricia Oduro Koranteng.

Sources within Jubilee House confirm that the Chief of Staff seeks clarity on the circumstances surrounding the monetary gift, which has sparked widespread public debate.

Critics argue that such a gesture from a public official may conflict with President John Dramani Mahama’s newly launched Code of Conduct for Public Officials. The Code, central to the government’s anti-corruption drive, emphasizes transparency, integrity, and accountability.

The incident has raised ethical concerns about the conduct expected from government officials and the possible political implications of Mr. Gyamfi’s actions.

As discussions intensify, many await further details on the outcome of the Chief of Staff’s summons.
