The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a collaborative effort with the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) to restore power to parts of the Greater Accra Region affected by heavy rainfall and subsequent flooding on Sunday, May 18, 2025.

In a public notice released on Monday, May 19, ECG disclosed that the severe downpour led to flooding in several areas, causing power outages within its distribution network.

In response, NADMO requested the isolation of multiple affected communities to ensure public safety and allow for recovery operations.

The impacted areas include Borteyman Stadium, Affordable Housing, Borteyman Township, Little Roses, Lakeside, Nanakrom, Kissieman, Dome Pillar 2, Christian Village, School Junction, School Junction Melcom, Nmaidzor Zoomlion, University Farms, Trassaco 3rd Gate, Legon Hill, Santeo, Blue Kiosk, Adenta ECG Office, and Madina Islamic University.

ECG emphasized that it is working closely with NADMO to follow their directives before power can be safely restored in these locations.

The company has also urged customers to report individual or localised outages, fallen poles, or sagging conductors by contacting the ECG Call Center at 0302-611611, visiting the nearest ECG office, or reaching out through their official social media platforms on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and Instagram via @ECGghOfficial.

The company expressed appreciation for the public’s patience and assured that efforts are underway to restore normal power supply as quickly and safely as possible.
